There was a time when I would have avoided the shadows you see here on her face at all costs.
Flat lighting results in no shadows, but as it's name indicates, also creates an image that lacks depth.
Shadow is what accentuates light and makes it more interesting. Of course when, I first started this journey I didn't have the skill to keep shadows from being unflattering.
The other reference in this blog title points to my change in website platform. After almost a year at another platform and not even being recognized by Google SEO, I have come back to the blogger platform. A free platform that shows up on Google Analytics is a handy tool for a photographer!
