Palm Desert Lifestyle Photographer~ And Then We Snapped- 365 Blog Circle- Week 10

This is the week my life took a drastic turn in direction.
Though I did not seek out a new job, this new job found me and called me to it.
I know that this job is and will be a blessing, but considering all the hats
I was already wearing before it called,
I am in truth finding juggling it all to be a struggle.
There are a few hats that will need to be hung up for a bit until I can find my equilibrium.
Choosing which hats to hang up will be difficult.

This week the quotes are getting the ax.
Finding the right quote for each image takes a fair amount of time.
Time I no longer have at the moment.
I'll still try to write about each image though.

There are more than seven this week.
There are multiple images from the same days, but that's okay,
because it is still a good representation of our week.

He looks a lot older than 13 being that he is almost 5 foot ten already.
But thirteen is all the years he's lived so far.
I am filled with gratitude and pride for each and every one of them!

I am still trying to master silhouettes. I have yet to capture one in full sunlight though. These sunset ones seem like a nice consolation prize though!

Ryan has an oncology check up every six months.
Each one is fairly routine, but brings with it a certain amount of anxiety and trepidation.
Three years of remission down- a lifetime to go.

There is currently an obsession with Mary Poppins at my house.
An umbrella silhouette seemed appropriate to document that.

This was the week of check ups.
Things were all fine and handy here until the time came to do a finger prick to check her blood iron levels.

She has been a pretty healthy kid as long as her recent memory allows her.
Before she turned two, that was a slightly different story with three hospitalizations and an eye muscle surgery.  This however is the first she time she will actually remember one of these little procedures and as you can see, she was not amused.

Her day got a little better since there was a little park
next to the doctor's office that we had yet to explore.
Mommy is also trying to get the perfect swing shot at some point.
Though that did not happen at this visit, it was fun trying for it none the less.

Symmetry fascinates me.

My first night on the job- or on the payroll at least.
I am the new Children's Ministry Coordinator at my church.
This night I got to plan and execute activities for a Parent's Night Out.
This game explored the idea that there are things you can't un-do.
First you squeeze ALL the toothpaste out of the tube.
Then you TRY to put it all back in.
Sound impossible? It is, and that's the point.
Just like the squeezed out toothpaste, the words we say are impossible to put back in our mouths
so we need to be careful what those words are saying.

This is the child that has repeatedly removed all the screws in her little wooden play kitchen.
It was about time to get her to a Home Depot Kids Workshop.
She did more than half this project all by herself.
Handy Manny has given her extreme confidence in her own DIY skills.

Hammer, hammer, little Miss Ember!

This is what pride in a job well done looks like!

Until next week I bid you adieu and recommend you follow the link over to
see what Jen has captured with her eyes and heart this week.
